About Christie
A personal story connecting Sukabumi, Bandung and the Salzkammergut.

From Indonesia to Austria
Christie Amarillis was born in Sukabumi and raised in Bandung. At 19 she moved to Austria and found a new home in the Salzkammergut.
Her Chinese-Indonesian roots, experiences in Austria and joy in sharing food still shape her cooking. She combines memories and flavours from Indonesia, China, Thailand and Vietnam with ingredients readily available in Austria.

A passion became a profession
Friends and family were her first guests. Their enthusiasm encouraged Christie to turn her hobby into a profession — first with street food, later in her own restaurant in St. Georgen im Attergau.
Christie's Kitchen has intentionally remained small. This lets Christie cook personally, speak with guests and plan every private dinner or catering request individually.

Personal connection and conversation with our guests are especially important to us. For us, hospitality means more than simply serving a plate – it’s about getting to know our guests, listening, and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Truly authentic Asian cuisine, shaped by cultural heritage, countless journeys throughout Asia, and numerous cooking courses attended along the way. Alongside these experiences are family recipes passed down through generations. Together, they form the foundation of dishes rooted in traditional preparation methods, authentic flavors, and the rich culinary diversity of Asia.
